Canine Hydrotherapy

The underwater treadmill is an excellent piece of equipment with many benefits. It can be used to increase muscle strength, reduce joint load, correct poor gait patterns, and improve active range of motion. The height of the water, the speed, and the duration of repetitions can all be carefully controlled to target specific issues.

Our team of physios have the skills to correct poor movement patterns and facilitate  good quality walking postures.

Equine Physiotherapy

Pain in horses can manifest in many ways, including unsatisfactory behaviour, poor performance, and schooling issues. Our team can identify areas of immobility, weakness, or imbalances.

Using manual therapy,  targeted exercises, and rehabilitation techniques, physiotherapy can reduce pain and improve the physical health and performance of horses.

Equestrian Rider Physiotherapy

Rider asymmetries can lead to pain in and out of the saddle.  It can also cause compensatory movement patterns from the horse.

Our biomechanics assessment includes a filmed, ridden component, film analysis and an off-horse musculoskeletal screening. The results from this assessment can guide any physiotherapy treatment or strength and rehabilitation necessary.

Charlotte Davies

Veterinary Physiotherapist

"Hailing from the Cheshire countryside in the UK, I grew up surrounded by horses & dogs. I have ridden and competed horses for most of my life and with over a decade of experience working as a physiotherapist, it was only natural to combine my two passions.

I particularly love working with horse and rider combinations to improve symmetry, and overall performance.

As well as working alongside veterinary surgeons to rehab a post-op doggy back to full function.

Outside of work I can be found hiking with my rescue lab Lola, road running or sampling the amazing food HK has on offer!"

Veterinary Physiotherapist

"Growing up in rural New Zealand I have always been surrounded by a myriad of animals, including constant canine companionship and many horses and ponies.

I strongly believe our horses should be seen as athletes and high quality care and treatment is vital for them to reach their full potential. Similarly, the love our dogs give to us is one of the most special bonds we can make, and I believe in honouring that relationship by keeping our pooches comfortable and happy.

Horse riding has been a passion from childhood and I have competed in show jumping and eventing.  I also enjoy walking, skiing, yoga and a nice glass of NZ wine!'
